No is the most powerful word in the English language. When we hear NO, we have a physiological reaction. Our fight-or-flight response takes over. We feel stressed, shamed, rejected. The stress hormone, cortisol, is release into the body and attacks the emotional response section of our brain. Repeated stress can lead to depression and chronic sadness.
It takes 3 to 5 positive
thoughts, interactions, memories
to counter the affects
of the word NO.
The antidotes to negative stress includes meditation, affirmation, and a daily gratitude list practice.
Here is how the gratitude list works. Our brains are bombarded with input and hardwired to look for danger to keep us safe. The problem is focusing on danger creates a life lived in fear. A daily gratitude list of 50 to 100 things gives the brain a reason to look for all the good in our lives.
From that place of goodness
we raise our positive vibration and
counter the negative affects of NO.
When the power behind NO dissipates we are more likely to keep trying. And when we keep trying we succeed.
If you believe you can you can. If you believe you can't you can. It's that simple.
