Ready to Succeed

At a recent workshop, I heard:

Humans are born ready to learn and succeed.

Then, society teaches us that mistakes are wrong and we should be ashamed of failure.

Can you remember when you were 12 months old and learning to walk? Nope. Did you try and fail at walking a few hundred times? Yep. Yet, here most of us are today walking with ease because we didn't label falling and failing as bad. We never thought we couldn't succeed. We believed that someday we would be walking just like everyone else.

To succeed at anything, we must believe we can, otherwise we give up. Occasionally, success doesn't happen overnight, it requires taking the next step each day. That's why role models are so helpful. It proves to us that it can be done.

Take the four-minute mile for example. In the same year the four-minute mile was broken, several other people broke that record. Someone proved it could be done and gave others the belief that they could do it too.

What are you believing about your success today?

Think you can and you will. Think you can't and you won't.

It's that simple.

Welcome

Let's be honest. Life is busy. You totally deserve a coffee break! How often do we really sit down with a nice cup of coffee and sip it in peace, enjoying the way it smells, tastes and feels as we drink it? Not enough!

That's what this blog is all about, giving us all permission to slow down and smell the coffee. To feel the love. Express the joy. Notice with gratitude all the abundance in our lives.

My plan is to provide weekly snippets of insight, humor, inspiration and beauty. I encourage you to stop by with a cup of coffee in front of you and stay a while. If you haven't tried the coffee meditation click here. I might have a photography tip, a parenting trick or simply an inspiring quote. Maybe it will just be a beautiful photo to contemplate or a snippet of advice from a personal coach. Regardless, I hope you leave feeling renewed or with a new idea, something that makes your life a little better.

Oh, by the way, I sell coffee; great tasting, good for you coffee. I encourage you to try it. It might become your new healthy habit, just like this blog.

Welcome.

Coffee Meditation

So many of us live hectic, busy lives. We run from home to work or school to evening activities and along the way drink coffee or tea to keep us going.

How often do you stop to savor it's taste or sense how it feels in your body? Consider doing a coffee meditation to not only feed your body, but also calm and center your mind.

To get started put on some soothing meditation music. I like ocean meditation on Pandora. Get a packet of your favorite Organo Gold coffee or tea and a mug filled with steaming hot water.

Now, close your eyes and take in a deep breath to relax. Yawn a time or two and stretch, opening your body and mind to the process.

Next, feel the universal quality that is urging to express through you at this moment, like love, joy, peace, freedom, abundance, etc. Say the word in your head and make sure it resonates with you. If it doesn't, choose another.

Open your coffee or tea and write the word on the envelop.

Stir your coffee or tea in the hot water and say:
"I am infused with (insert quality)."
Repeat the affirmation 2 times.

Take a sip of coffee or tea and say:
"I drink in the (insert quality)."

Close your eyes again and notice the warm feeling of the coffee or tea as it moves down into your body.
Say: "I feel the (insert quality) of the Universe filling my entire being."

Take a deep breath and say:
"(insert quality) and I are One."

Take another sip and say:
"The (insert quality) of the Universe is within me now and always."

Sit quietly listening to the soothing music and enjoy your coffee for as long as you feel appropriate.
